About the Role

We’re looking for a world-class individual to lead our efforts with technology and channel partners with a strong emphasis on consultancies and systems integrators (Partners). As Director of Business Development you will form and manage successful relationships with Partners to drive opportunities and revenue. You will work closely with our sales and product teams to understand industry trends as well as customer pain points to provide a vision and roadmap for data.world solutions to Partners. Responsibilities will include developing channel partners, managing joint go-to-market, driving field relationships, and collaboratively developing pipeline through co-creation of demand generation activities with Partners. This person should be resourceful and able to independently gain access as well as build long-term relationships with senior leadership of prospective Partners. The Director of Business Development will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a critical role in helping data.world achieve its mission. The Ideal Candidate • Proven track record in a startup environment forming successful strategic and channel partnerships with global system integrators, multinational agencies/consultancies, or large cap technology companies. Examples of marquee channel partners would be Accenture, Deloitte, CapGemini, and Cognizant. • Experience in the data, analytics, or other related technical industry. • Demonstrated ability to recognize business, product, and technical opportunities and challenges as well as the capacity to build and convey compelling joint value propositions. • Significant experience working with senior level decision-makers. • Self-motivated, proactive hunter with ability to develop and maintain strong relationships. • Excellent communication (verbal and written), listening, presentation, qualifying, closing and negotiating skills. • Detail-oriented and enthusiasm for solving problems in real time. • Bachelor’s degree – technical degree/aptitude/experience or an MBA is a plus. • Willingness to travel. • If you have the exceptional combination of skills and qualities that we are looking for, then we’re excited to meet you!
