About the Role
Indianapolis, Indiana Area
You will lead and manage the real estate functions including, development, preconstruction and construction and own the strategy, planning, capital strategy, and execution of all real estate and construction opportunities and transactions. Additionally, you will be the leader in developing new business and strategic partnerships; sourcing and execution of mixed-use, multi-family and student housing real estate development opportunities; overseeing development, preconstruction and construction for approved opportunities and a member of the Investment Committee. You will also assist the CEO with other development and financing activities while supporting the organization’s mission, vision and values. - Leveraging their knowledge, skills, leadership abilities, and confidence to lead the development and construction departments and teams in delivering on their plans that maximize company results. - Getting up to speed and continuing to move the pipeline forward – from conception through construction. - Collaborating with peers and stakeholders, own and manage the risk of the development projects. - Identifying and proposing new opportunities to the investment committee. - Continually improving the process and length of cycle time for development projects. Requirements: - 15+ years of experience in the area of residential or commercial real estate with demonstrated experience and working knowledge of site selection, performing feasibility analysis, market evaluation, proformas, financing of deals, underwriting, construction and business/project planning - 6+ years in a leadership and supervision role of good size teams - Proven track record of successful complex development projects from conception to completion including oversight of risk and financing - Strong technical knowledge of design and construction - Successful track record with complex capital, financing and underwriting of deals - Successful track record of strategic alliances and relationships with brokers, lenders, capital investors, equity partners, institutional investors, government agencies, and land owners - Successful track record of negotiating skills with deals
