About the Role

Company is seeking an Independent Director with a multifaceted background in healthcare, telehealth or digital health and prior experience serving on Boards. S/he will be expected to participate in quarterly in-person Board meetings, monthly Board calls, Board Committee meetings, serve on two committees, and attend periodic ad-hoc Board meetings as called. The Independent Director should have the capacity and capability to participate in, and potentially lead, Board Committees. A strong Independent Director will bring direct experience leading organizations at various points in the business life cycle (i.e. early stage, growth stage, mature businesses, IPOs and liquidity events). The preferred candidate will have executive leadership and Board experience across health insurance, healthcare systems, telemedicine, digital health and/or genomics. Experience with tech-enabled clinical services companies and an understanding of healthcare monetization models strongly preferred. The ideal Independent Director will also be or have a/an: Demonstrated experience and commitment to innovation in health care with expertise to share to help define business models and pricing strategies. Demonstrated experience building tech-enabled services company (telehealth, digital health, or SaaS solutions) to more effectively scale care. Interest and commitment to improving the quality and cost of patient care. Understanding of basic policy and system drivers of health care. Commitment to understanding and responding to the complexity of a dynamic market and emerging business model. Strategic thinker with knowledge of health systems, providers and/or payers preferred. Technology acumen with experience harnessing data insights (AI, ML, Data Science) desirable. Commitment to moving beyond traditional genomic models to harness the potential of genomics in everyday care for patients all around the country. Curiosity and willingness to learn about social impact strategy and objectives. Requirements: A minimum of 20+ years of successful experience in progressive leadership roles including at least ten years of experience in executive roles. Prefer direct experience taking an early-stage company through a period of rapid growth, building to a high-performance organization. Experience serving on for-profit private and/or public Boards. Experience working cross-functionally with different stakeholder groups across an industry at the highest executive levels in health care (for example, working with payers, providers, and/or labs within the health care industry). Strong financial and operational experience (from an executive and Board level) and have demonstrated evidence bringing insights to an organization. Experience in mission-driven health care organizations, with a high degree of curiosity and drive to understand new health care markets, technologies, and related dynamics. Flexibility and adaptability to work with diverse teams. Good communication and collaboration are key. Clear, concise speaking skills. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience as a leader, mentor, and builder. Ability to travel to quarterly board meetings and as otherwise needed.
