Interim Head of Venture Building Greater Nairobi, Kenya Area

The Company is seeking a Head of Venture Building to oversee support engagements across a portfolio of digital employment platforms. The role includes assessing prospective companies, identifying their growth challenges, shaping tailored support plans, and ensuring engagements are well-resourced and tied to measurable employment outcomes. The successful candidate will build relationships with founders, monitor portfolio health, coordinate specialists, and quality-assure workplans and technical assistance. They will also track progress, adapt interventions, and use evidence from engagements to inform portfolio strategy, learning, and future growth. Candidates should have 8–12 years of relevant experience in venture building, startup support, digital platforms, consulting, portfolio management, or a related field, with direct experience working with technology businesses and founders. Strong commercial judgment, analytical skills, and familiarity with platform business models, growth, and job creation are essential. The role also requires experience managing multiple engagements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and designing or overseeing technical assistance, alongside excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage. Experience in jobtech, inclusive employment, youth employment, or digital livelihoods in Africa or other emerging markets is particularly valuable.
