Managing Director

The Company is in search of a Managing Director for its theatrical business in China. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading the strategic direction, commercial performance, and long-term growth of the business in this key market. This role demands a leader with a strong background in film, media, entertainment, or a related industry, and a deep understanding of the theatrical distribution ecosystem in China. The Managing Director will have full P&L accountability, be responsible for distribution, marketing, finance, operations, and business development, and will be expected to provide both strategic and operational leadership to ensure the success of the theatrical slate. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a proven track record of at least 15 years in a leadership role, with significant experience in theatrical distribution and releasing. The role requires a results-oriented executive with excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, who is adept at building and maintaining relationships with government, industry, and commercial stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded leader, passionate about film and entertainment, and capable of fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative organizational culture. A tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience is necessary, along with fluency in both Mandarin and English, and the ability to travel as needed.
