Assistant General Counsel, Cybersecurity & Privacy Greater Boston, MA Area

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel specializing in cybersecurity and privacy to provide strategic legal advice on cybersecurity, data security, incident response, technology risk, and related regulatory matters. The role serves as a key legal advisor during cyber incidents, supporting escalation, materiality assessments, notifications, disclosures, regulatory engagement, and communications. Responsibilities also include monitoring legal and regulatory developments; supporting crisis management, readiness exercises, and cybersecurity testing; and developing policies, procedures, and response playbooks. The attorney will advise on third-party and open-source software risks, negotiate technology and cybersecurity agreements, and partner with business and control teams to develop practical solutions. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, be licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and have at least six years of relevant legal experience, including substantial cybersecurity, data security, privacy, technology, or incident-response work. Required qualifications include experience advising on cyber incident response and regulatory obligations, strong knowledge of cybersecurity laws and frameworks, and skill in drafting policies and negotiating technology-related contracts. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to advise senior leaders and manage competing priorities in time-sensitive situations. Experience in a highly regulated organization, regulatory examinations, crisis management, cybersecurity technologies, open-source software, or security testing is preferred.
