Assistant General Counsel Greater Chicago, IL Area

The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to lead complex client contract negotiations and provide strategic legal advice to management. Responsibilities include structuring, drafting, negotiating, and analyzing client and vendor agreements, including commercial technology, software, cloud, AI, development, outsourcing, and consulting contracts. The role also advises on data privacy, information security, technology controls, emerging technologies, and regulatory compliance, and supports healthcare-related legal matters. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients while helping advance business objectives and manage legal risk. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor degree and be in good standing with at least one state bar, with a minimum of five years of legal experience focused on complex commercial agreements. Strong negotiation, analytical, drafting, and communication skills are required, along with sound judgment, integrity, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Applicants should be comfortable interpreting legal and business documents, collaborating across teams, and advising executive stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is also required.
