Head of Technical

The Company is seeking a Head of Technical to lead its technical function and set quality strategy, driving food safety, compliance, and team performance. Responsibilities include developing a multidisciplinary team across quality assurance, technical services, specifications, and hygiene, and continuously improving quality and food safety management systems. The role leads HACCP reviews and verification, customer and regulatory audits, supplier approval, complaint investigations, and corrective actions. It also oversees hygiene, product testing, calibration, and relevant certification and chain-of-custody requirements, while promoting a strong food safety culture. Candidates should have at least 10 years of technical experience, including five years in senior leadership, and recent technical management experience in the meat or fish industry. A degree in a scientific discipline and experience in high-risk food manufacturing, including Listeria control, are required. Strong knowledge of food safety management systems, HACCP, and applicable quality standards is essential, along with experience working directly with major retailers and managing customer technical requirements. Multi-site operational experience and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams are also required.
