Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Greater Harrisonburg, VA Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer to provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing operations and patient care departments. The CNO will advance accountability, innovation, operational excellence, and patient-centered care while supporting strong clinical outcomes and positive experiences. Responsibilities include strengthening nursing recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional development; championing frontline caregivers and shared governance; and leading workforce planning, regulatory compliance, nursing standards, and continuous improvement. Working with executive and clinical leaders, the CNO will use technology, data, and evidence-based practices to advance patient safety, care quality, and operational effectiveness. Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a master’s degree in business or healthcare administration. The role requires at least three years of management experience, including two years in a 24/7 nursing operations environment. The ideal candidate brings strong operational expertise and strategic vision, with the ability to lead change, build high-performing teams, foster collaboration, and empower nurses to deliver exceptional care.
