The Company is seeking a Vice President for Business Legal in the Corporate Banking sector. The successful candidate will be part of the Legal, Compliance, and Secretariat (LCS) business function, which is dedicated to managing legal, regulatory, and financial crime risks, as well as corporate secretariat responsibilities. The role involves ensuring that the company's business conduct aligns with its legal and regulatory risk appetite, and maintaining a robust program for the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of such risks. The VP will be responsible for providing legal advisory and transaction support in complex corporate banking, markets, and derivatives, and transactional banking matters. This includes advising on a range of financial transactions, from syndicated and bilateral loans to digital platform agreements, and overseeing the legal aspects of risk management, documentation, and governance. Candidates for this role should have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, with admission to practice law being preferable. A minimum of 10-12 years' post-qualification legal experience is required, with a strong preference for those with in-house experience in a major international bank or top-tier law firm specializing in banking and finance, capital markets, or derivatives. The role demands deep domain knowledge in corporate lending, financial markets/treasury documentation, and institutional transactional banking operations. Core competencies include exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as strong stakeholder management and the ability to provide commercial, risk-balanced legal advice. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, collaborative team player with high ethical standards, capable of working under tight timelines and ensuring strict adherence to local laws and regulations.
