Chief Research Officer (CRO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Research Officer to lead and assess its research strategy and advance research, scholarship, creative activity, sponsored programs, and innovation across disciplines. The role oversees research administration, integrity, compliance, security, and support operations, while managing budgets, internal investments, research centers, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will strengthen external funding, faculty research competitiveness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student research engagement. They will also build effective research teams and partnerships, support clinical and translational research where appropriate, and advance technology transfer and innovation. Candidates must hold an earned terminal degree or have an equivalent combination of advanced education and substantial relevant experience, along with significant, progressively responsible leadership in research or a related area. Required qualifications include firsthand success securing external funding, knowledge of faculty research needs and research regulations, and familiarity with intellectual property and technology transfer. Applicants should demonstrate collaborative leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ethical judgment, financial acumen, and experience leading people, programs, budgets, and organizational change. Experience implementing research strategy, developing partnerships, and strengthening research administration is preferred.
