Senior Vice President, Legal

The Company is seeking an SVP, Legal to join their team. This senior leadership role is pivotal in shaping the legal direction of the organization, with a focus on compliance, risk management, and supporting business growth. The successful candidate will serve as the principal legal advisor to the CEO, Board, and senior management, and will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company's operations, including major corporate transactions, governance, and ESG objectives. The role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of leading and mentoring legal teams, and engaging with external counsel as needed. To be considered for this position, candidates must have an LL.B or equivalent qualification, with an LL.M being highly desirable. Admission to practice at the Malaysian Bar or equivalent professional accreditation is required. The ideal candidate will have at least 15-20 years' of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of in-house legal leadership in large, multi-sector organizations. Experience in complex commercial negotiations, litigation management, and advising on governance and risk mitigation strategies is essential. The role demands excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to manage multi-jurisdictional teams effectively.
