Interim Head of Children’s Finance

The Company is seeking an Interim Head of Children’s Finance to lead the finance function and provide strategic financial support across children’s services. Responsibilities include managing a high-performing finance team, advising senior leaders and service directors, and overseeing budget setting, forecasting, and financial performance. The role also supports savings programmes and transformation initiatives while ensuring sound financial governance and regulatory compliance. Building effective relationships with stakeholders across the service area is essential. Candidates should hold a CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification and bring extensive local government finance experience. A strong understanding of children’s services funding and financial management is required, along with proven leadership in a complex public-sector environment. The successful candidate will be able to establish credibility quickly and deliver results in an interim leadership role.
