Hiring Company
About the Role
Greater Manchester, United Kingdom Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a founding Managing Director to establish and lead a new development corporation from formation through launch. The role involves turning a shared vision into a costed, deliverable regeneration programme, overseeing land assembly, acquisition, viability work, investment, and development partnerships. The Managing Director will guide projects spanning housing, employment space, town-centre renewal, cultural activity, and improved connections. They will also commission and manage delivery partners, work closely with the board and senior stakeholders, and ensure local people and businesses have meaningful influence over decisions. Community wealth, social value, and cooperative approaches to development will be central to the work. Applicants should bring a strong record of delivering complex regeneration, ideally involving mixed-use town centres and historic environments. Significant expertise in commercial negotiation, land assembly, and development partnerships is required, along with the ability to build trust across investors, government, elected representatives, communities, and boards. The successful candidate will listen openly, bring differing perspectives together, and turn shared priorities into action. A commitment to community participation and ensuring people have a genuine stake in the future of their place is essential.
