Vice President, Merchandising

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Merchandising to lead merchandising strategy and drive category performance, product assortment, pricing, supplier partnerships, and inventory productivity. Responsibilities include developing strategies to improve sales, margins, and profitability; overseeing promotions and product availability; optimizing inventory, replenishment, and working capital; and leading supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing. The role also involves building a high-performing merchandising team and collaborating with operational and commercial teams to ensure effective execution. Candidates should have at least 10 years of senior leadership experience and a proven record of improving sales performance and operational efficiency. Progressive experience in merchandising, buying, or category management within grocery, food retail, or a related industry is required, along with strengths in category P&L management, supplier negotiations, inventory optimization, and team leadership. A bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, finance, supply chain, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in international sourcing, import-dependent retail, private label, or fresh-food merchandising is desirable.
