Vice President of Insurance & Risk Management Greater Phoenix, AZ Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Insurance and Risk Management to set enterprise-wide strategy and lead the insurance and risk management function. The role owns the design and performance of the insurance and risk-financing program, including annual renewals, broker and carrier relationships, cost containment, reserves, and claims oversight. The successful candidate will build and scale the department, establish insurance support aligned with operating groups, and advise executive leadership on risk-spreading and self-insurance options. The role also reports risk exposure and program performance to senior executives and the board. Candidates should have at least 15 years of corporate insurance and risk management experience, including substantial senior leadership experience and a record of owning insurance programs, leading renewals, and building or scaling teams. Construction, engineering, or heavy civil industry experience is strongly preferred, with knowledge of project-based risk, surety, controlled insurance programs, and builders risk required. Experience with alternative risk financing or captives and risk management information systems is valued; ARM, CPCU, or CRM credentials are a plus. Strong executive presence and the ability to advise and present to senior leaders and boards are essential.
