The Company is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Vice President for Applications Development within its Equities Technology division. The successful candidate will be part of a bold, multi-year transformation to build a best-in-class global platform across various equity functions. This role is pivotal in re-engineering the technology estate to achieve world-leading performance and resiliency, with a focus on advanced execution, global market connectivity, and modernized post-trade processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software engineering, with a strong expertise in Java, and the ability to work closely with traders to deliver business solutions through agile methodologies. Key responsibilities for this role include resolving high-impact problems, providing technical expertise, and ensuring application design aligns with the overall architecture. The candidate should be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one area of applications development, with the ability to manage and implement successful projects. Extensive development experience, technical skills in Java, Kafka, SQL, and Git, as well as experience in QA, TDD, and BDD practices, are essential. The role demands the ability to work in a high-pressure environment, flexibility to collaborate with a global team, and strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with agile methodologies and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field is a beneficial educational background for applicants.
