Vice President, Software Engineering Greater Pune, India Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead engineering teams and advance the quality, stability, and evolution of large-scale software platforms. Responsibilities include setting release standards, managing operational risk, reducing technical debt, and delivering modernization initiatives across cloud-native, hybrid, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures. The role will also drive practical AI adoption in engineering, testing, and operations, while establishing responsible governance. The Vice President will develop senior leaders, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and partner with executives and cross-functional teams on delivery, security, resilience, and strategic priorities. Candidates should bring deep expertise in software engineering, distributed systems, and the design and operation of high-performance, reliable platforms. Advanced knowledge of Agile practices and experience with Test-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design, and application lifecycle management tools are required. The role calls for a hands-on leader who can coach managers, build talent, make sound decisions, and communicate technical matters clearly to varied audiences. Familiarity with the payments or card industry and the ability to assess business cases are also important.
