Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Company is in search of a Chief Executive to spearhead the implementation of an ambitious new ten-year strategy. The successful candidate will be a confident ambassador and relationship-builder, with a proven track record in income generation and brand-building. This role is pivotal in leading the organization through a period of growth, both in terms of impact and financial stability. The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing the vision and inspiration to the staff, acting as the principal representative to donors, funders, and partners, and leading the organizational direction, growth, and long-term financial planning. Strong internal leadership is essential, as is the ability to work in partnership with the Board and ensure the organization remains compliant and resourceful. Applicants for the Chief Executive position at the company should have experience in successfully leading a medium-sized environmental NGO, charity, or social enterprise, and a deep understanding of the nature or environmental science sector. The role requires a leader with commercial instincts, capable of growing income and building a sustainable business model, and a belief in the power of citizen science. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with their Board, built on trust, and be prepared to lead from the front, bringing stability and direction to the organization's next chapter. The Chief Executive will be expected to operate as the public face of the organization, influencing and negotiating at the highest levels, and to lead with strength and warmth, providing clear direction to a talented team.
