Vice President, Senior Development Lead Greater Tokyo, Japan Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President and Senior Development Lead to join their Securities Lending Technology team. This hands-on leadership role is pivotal in supporting the growth of the Japan Securities Lending business and enhancing the Asia development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of strategic technology solutions, from requirements gathering to production support. Key responsibilities include owning technology delivery for assigned initiatives, partnering with the Securities Lending trading desk and operations teams, providing technical leadership in Java and Scala development, and designing scalable solutions. The role also involves guiding and developing junior engineers, coordinating delivery across regional and global teams, and ensuring the stability and continuous improvement of business-critical applications. Applicants for this role at the company should have at least 7 years' of relevant experience, with a strong background in Java and/or Scala development, relational database design, and SQL. Experience in leading complex software delivery, particularly in a front-office trading environment, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design, as well as experience with Agile delivery methods and modern software engineering practices. Preferred experience includes knowledge of securities lending business processes, application modernization, and working with globally distributed teams, especially in Japan and Asia. The role requires a candidate with the ability to manage multiple priorities, guide junior staff, and lead initiatives across teams, along with strong communication skills to engage with senior business and technology stakeholders.
