Vice President, Meat & Seafood Greater Tyler, TX Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Meat & Seafood to provide strategic leadership across its meat and seafood categories. The role oversees category strategies for merchandising, pricing, promotions, assortment, sourcing, and supply availability, while guiding teams to achieve sales, margin, and shrink targets. Responsibilities include managing category professionals, budgets, vendor relationships, and business planning; monitoring market and consumer trends; and ensuring product quality, food safety, labeling compliance, and cold-chain integrity. The Vice President will also collaborate with retail operations and logistics to improve procurement, distribution, and in-store performance. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, food science, or a related field, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience in meat or seafood merchandising, procurement, or category management, including significant leadership experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Multi-banner experience and retail meat operations or meat-cutting experience are preferred. The role requires advanced knowledge of meat and seafood categories, sourcing, commodity markets, and food safety, along with strong financial, forecasting, negotiation, and team leadership skills. Familiarity with planning and budgeting systems, Microsoft Office, and SAP reporting applications is also expected.
