Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive and CEO, leading a respected statewide professional association at a pivotal moment in public education. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading advocacy on behalf of members, guiding and inspiring a dedicated staff, and deepening strategic partnerships. This role requires a visionary leader with the agility to navigate rapid changes in state education policy, a genuine commitment to putting students' needs first, and outstanding communication and political skills. The Executive Director will also be expected to steward the organization's growth, maintain a strong presence, and be a thought leader at major statewide events. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a background that includes prior school superintendent experience, or roles in nonprofit or foundation leadership, senior state legislature leadership, state education department, or higher education leadership. The ideal candidate will possess powerful communication, political acumen, and the judgment to lead a small, mission-driven organization. Positive leadership, a can-do attitude, and a good sense of humor are also essential. The role is based in Latham, New York, and the Executive Director is expected to maintain a full-time, onsite presence at the organization's offices.
