Interim Head of Regulatory & Compliance Remote (anywhere in Malta)

The Company is seeking a Head of Europe Regulatory & Compliance to take ownership of the European regulatory and compliance strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for mapping the regulatory requirements relevant to the business model, setting the market-entry sequence, and translating regulations into product controls, operating standards, and commercially viable partnerships. This role involves developing a comprehensive regulatory strategy, assessing various regulatory requirements for each market launch, and creating a framework for jurisdiction assessment and regulatory change management. The Head of Regulatory & Compliance will also lead engagement with regulators, external counsel, and strategic partners, and will be instrumental in building the European compliance organization with a focus on governance, monitoring, and reporting. Applicants for the Head of Europe Regulatory & Compliance position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in European regulatory, compliance, or legal leadership within the relevant sectors. The role requires a candidate with a strong working knowledge of AML/KYC, sanctions, consumer protection, and product-governance controls, as well as a practical approach to balancing regulatory credibility with product design and commercial execution. Excellent stakeholder management, judgment, and written communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in securing or supporting licenses and operating across multiple regulatory regimes, and will be adept at reviewing market structures, product features, data flows, and commercial models before launch.
