Associate General Counsel II Remote (anywhere in Michigan)

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel II to provide senior-level legal advice and technical oversight on complex, high-impact corporate matters. Responsibilities include researching specialized legal issues, developing legal strategies, reviewing contracts and other documents, and advising senior leaders on the legal implications of business decisions. The role also involves managing projects with broad organizational impact, leading interdisciplinary teams, and preparing strategic materials to support business planning and departmental effectiveness. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with colleagues and business clients while contributing to a collaborative legal team. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor degree and be authorized to represent the Company as a member of a state bar. Extensive experience in complex, strategic legal analysis across multiple business areas and legal specialties is required, including advising on matters involving multiple state jurisdictions. Applicants should bring experience in a corporate legal department, preferably in insurance, banking, or a large corporation, along with strengths in legal research, document drafting, project management, and advising senior leadership. Expertise in areas such as insurance law, litigation management, compliance, or corporate law is needed, as are excellent judgment, communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
