Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead its enterprise-wide risk agenda, setting and implementing strategy, policy, and budget across both financial and non-financial risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and continuously refining the risk management framework, ensuring alignment with global best practices, particularly Basel III. This role involves acting as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board committees, leading the credit, market, and liquidity risk functions, and overseeing operational resilience, including information security and business continuity. The CRO will also be tasked with monitoring capital adequacy, regulatory changes, and market movements, and must be prepared to take proactive measures when the risk profile shifts. Applicants for the Chief Risk Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in risk management within financial services, with a strong background in leading a multi-discipline risk function. The role requires broad expertise across credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk, with a solid understanding of technology and cyber risk. A proven track record in building or transforming a risk framework at the enterprise level and experience in engaging with Boards, Board committees, and regulators at the highest level are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in a mature, established institution, with experience in the GCC or international exposure being a plus. The CRO will also be responsible for building and leading a high-performing risk team, with a focus on succession planning and fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.
