Head of Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the modernization of its physician recruiting data platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the technical architecture and a phased plan for migration, with a focus on moving from legacy technologies to modern web standards. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep technical background, who can work closely with the engineering and QA team to ensure a smooth transition. The Head of Engineering will be expected to be in the code regularly, leading by example, and to make AI an integral part of the development process. Strong experience in web application architecture, modern web technologies, CI/CD, and application security is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in engineering leadership, including the ability to recruit, manage, and develop engineering talent. Candidates for the Head of Engineering position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience, with at least 12 years in software engineering and 5 years in an engineering leadership role. Experience in SaaS, data, or platform product environments is required, and a background in healthcare technology or a rich real-world domain model is a plus. The role demands a leader who can make a significant impact on the team's ability to deliver, with a focus on small, frequent releases and honest forecasting. The Head of Engineering will work closely with the Head of Product, and the role is not suited for those who prefer to lead from a distance or are not actively involved in the technical aspects of the job.
