Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Independent Contractor Remote (anywhere in United States)

The Company is seeking a senior, client-facing CFO to serve as a strategic finance partner to a portfolio of venture-backed and emerging-growth businesses. Responsibilities include leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, cash and treasury management, and supporting fundraising, transactions, audits, and compliance. The CFO will advise founders, executives, boards, and investors; oversee client relationships, engagement quality and economics; and lead and develop finance teams. The role also involves growing client relationships and introducing responsible AI, automation, and financial systems to improve operations, decision-making, and controls. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; an MBA and/or CPA is preferred. At least 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, including five or more years as a CFO or VP of Finance and five years working with venture-backed or emerging-growth companies, is required. Applicants should bring strong GAAP and ASC 606 knowledge, advanced financial modeling skills, and experience with financings, board and investor relations, and client growth; multi-client advisory experience is preferred. The role also calls for executive communication, commercial judgment, team leadership, and practical experience designing finance workflows and applying AI and automation while maintaining data integrity and auditability.
