Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead clinical operations across a complex care system and drive operational performance, quality, safety, patient experience, and financial stewardship. The COO will oversee day-to-day operations across inpatient care, emergency and perioperative services, and clinical support functions, ensuring effective patient flow, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Working closely with executive leaders and medical staff, the COO will advance long-range plans, growth initiatives, and accountable performance systems. The role also includes strengthening physician partnerships, developing a high-performing workforce and leadership team, and fostering innovation, inclusion, and community-responsive services. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, with at least 10 years of progressively responsible executive operational leadership in complex acute care. Prior experience as a sitting COO, Deputy COO, or equivalent senior operations executive in a major academic medical center or similarly complex health system is required. The successful candidate will bring expertise in clinical operations, strategic planning, financial and budget management, quality and safety improvement, and regulatory compliance. Strong collaboration, communication, change leadership, and workforce development capabilities are essential.
