Head of Accounting

The Company is seeking a Head of Accounting to oversee financial accounting and reporting. Responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP, managing group reporting, and leading and developing the accounting team. The role also covers balance sheet reconciliations, provisions, liquidity management, payment processing, VAT matters, and oversight of internal controls and compliance. The Head of Accounting will coordinate external audits, improve closing and accounting processes, and contribute to finance, digitalization, and ERP initiatives while maintaining the quality of financial master data. Candidates should have a business degree focused on accounting, auditing, or taxation, a relevant professional accounting or auditing qualification, or equivalent credentials. Several years of finance and accounting experience, along with management experience and a commitment to employee development, are required. Strong knowledge of German GAAP is essential; IFRS familiarity is an advantage. Applicants should also bring experience with ERP systems, group reporting, audits, internal controls, and process improvement, plus strong Excel skills and IT aptitude. Experience with financial process automation or AI applications in accounting is beneficial.
