Assistant General Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs

The Company is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Assistant General Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs, supporting content acquisition and distribution activities. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for subscription services, digital distribution, content licensing, and advertising, as well as advising on content operations, data use, and product development. The attorney will counsel on new content delivery and monetization initiatives, including those involving artificial intelligence and machine learning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on business growth and regulatory matters. The role also involves managing complex, time-sensitive matters and providing practical legal guidance across multiple stakeholders. Candidates should have at least seven years of transactional legal experience, preferably in digital media or technology, with substantial experience negotiating content licensing and digital distribution agreements. Knowledge of commercial deal structures, intellectual property, data privacy, security, and advertising technology is valuable. Applicants should demonstrate sound risk judgment, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and collaborate across teams. A bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctor from a U.S.-accredited law school, and an active license to practice law in California or New York are required.
