The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President, Counsel to provide legal support to assigned insurance business units and related client groups. The role partners with underwriting and operational teams on business activities, relationships, product development, and marketing, and provides guidance on claims, acquisitions, and strategic investments. Responsibilities include supporting legal initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce exposure, overseeing work with outside counsel, and contributing legal analysis and updates to senior leadership. The Counsel will also help supervise paralegal and administrative staff. Candidates must hold a J.D. from an accredited law school, have strong academic credentials, and be admitted to practice in at least one state. At least seven years of major law firm experience is required, along with some exposure to insurance or insurance-related legal work. Experience with small commercial policies, business owner policies, or delegated authority and programs is a plus. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and time-management skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently, adapt to changing needs, and manage competing priorities.
