General Counsel Greater New York City, NY Area

The Company is seeking its first General Counsel to lead the legal function and advise senior leadership and the board. This hands-on role will own commercial contracting and build scalable templates, negotiation playbooks, and approval processes that support efficient dealmaking. The General Counsel will provide practical guidance on healthcare regulation, privacy, compliance, corporate governance, product matters, and legal risk involving resident data, AI, and connected devices. Responsibilities also include supporting security and privacy diligence, financing readiness, intellectual property, and employment matters, as well as selecting and managing outside counsel. Candidates must hold a JD and an active bar membership in good standing, with admission in New York or eligibility to register as in-house counsel, and have at least 10 years of legal experience. Significant experience negotiating complex enterprise technology agreements and independently managing commercial contracting is required. Applicants should have working knowledge of healthcare privacy and regulation, particularly HIPAA, and experience advising senior executives with clear, actionable recommendations. The role also calls for strong commercial judgment, a collaborative approach, and the ability to build processes independently in a fast-moving environment; experience in high-growth technology or regulated industries is preferred.
