About Abridge

Founded in 2018, Abridge is the first AI-native clinician intelligence platform organized around the patient, built for clinicians, and designed to help health systems coordinate the clinical, financial, and evidence-based decisions for every moment of care. Powered by purpose-built AI for healthcare, Abridge connects patients, providers, payers, and life sciences companies. This year, the platform will support more than 100 million patient-clinician conversations across more than 300 of the largest and most complex health systems in the U.S. With deep workflow integration, the Abridge clinician intelligence platform has been validated to support encounters in 28+ languages across specialties and care settings.

Abridge is setting the industry standard for the responsible deployment of Al across health systems with continual and transparent Al evaluation. Clinical decision support references and cites gold-standard sources of evidence, and features like Linked Evidence map AI-generated documentation to source data, helping clinicians quickly trust and verify the output.

The Role

As Associate General Counsel, Product, you’ll be a senior legal advisor to the teams building Abridge’s products, focused on our most complex and highest-impact initiatives. You’ll work closely with product and engineering and bring together healthcare, privacy, and AI regulatory requirements with the company’s commercial and operational goals. You’ll help shape how Abridge approaches new legal questions and build the guidance and systems that let teams innovate with confidence.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI and healthcare, helping a category-defining company navigate novel legal terrain.

What You’ll Do

Serve as lead counsel on Abridge’s most complex product initiatives, from early design through launch and post-launch review, including areas where the law is still developing.

Shape the legal strategy for the products and features you support, giving teams practical paths forward that account for regulatory, commercial, and operational realities.

Advise on product launches, feature changes, user-facing disclosures, and marketing claims.

Partner with product, engineering, policy, partner experience, marketing, IT, finance, corporate development, and commercial teams, including senior leadership, to align on risk and move initiatives forward.

Turn recurring issues into practical legal processes, frameworks, and templates that scale with the company.

Provide strategic guidance on regulatory, privacy, and compliance matters, including the evolving AI/ML landscape, and help shape Abridge’s positions on emerging regulation.

Flex across the broader Product, Privacy, and Regulatory Legal portfolio as company priorities and risks change.

Work with outside counsel on specialist issues and turn their advice into fast, actionable guidance for the business.

Monitor emerging laws and regulations affecting Abridge’s products and data practices, and advise stakeholders on their implications.

Passion for Abridge’s mission and the drive to support fast-moving product and operational teams.

10+ years of legal experience, including 6+ years in product counseling. Prior in-house experience at a technology company is required.

Experience owning complex, high-stakes legal matters independently, especially where there is little settled precedent.

Proven ability to translate complex regulatory and legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal colleagues, including senior leaders.

Proven ability to build trusted relationships with technical, design, and commercial teams.

Comfort operating with ambiguity, tight timelines, competing priorities, and a high volume of novel legal questions.
