Vice President, Medical Affairs Greater Virginia Beach, VA Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Medical Affairs to serve as a senior physician leader and member of the hospital leadership team. The role provides strategic guidance across quality, case management, clinical research, and clinical information systems, while overseeing functions such as medical staff services, credentialing, medical education, and electronic health records. Responsibilities include partnering with medical staff leaders, supporting physician development and recruitment, and advancing quality, patient safety, utilization, and risk management initiatives. The VP will also contribute to strategic planning, lead implementation of clinical technology and performance improvement efforts, and participate in governance and committee work. Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O., be board-certified in a clinical specialty, and have or be able to obtain a Virginia medical license. At least five years of clinical experience and two years of leadership or management experience, or equivalent, are required. Applicants should understand accreditation standards, state licensing requirements, and the healthcare industry, and demonstrate success in building physician relationships. An MBA or MHA is preferred.
