Vice President of Research & Development

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Research and Development to lead an engineering team tackling complex technical challenges and advancing new capabilities. The role includes mentoring and developing the team, setting technical direction, and architecting and deploying scalable machine-learning solutions. The successful candidate will work with clients and internal partners to translate needs into system concepts, prototypes, demonstrations, and deployed solutions. They will also establish engineering best practices, guide adoption of new methods and tools, and support delivery and ongoing optimization. Candidates should have a master’s degree or PhD in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related field, at least 10 years of industry experience, and at least five years of hands-on experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or autonomy research and development. Five or more years of experience with Java or Python and with government contracting, proposal writing, and contract management are required. The role calls for proactive technical leadership, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to learn from setbacks. Military experience is preferred.
