Head of External Communications

The Company is seeking a Head of External Communications with a strong background in business and financial media relations, particularly within the Gulf or EMEA markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the external communications strategy, ensuring it aligns with corporate objectives and brand guidelines. This senior role involves building and maintaining relationships with regional and international business and financial media, as well as preparing and coaching senior executives for high-stakes media engagements. The Head of External Communications will also be involved in content creation across various formats, supporting corporate and regulatory announcements, and leading crisis communications planning and response. Applicants for this role at The Company should have a minimum of 12 years' experience in corporate communications, with a focus on media relations and PR in a large organization. A proven track record in preparing and coaching senior executives, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to create content across all formats are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in a listed company environment, with experience in the energy, oil and gas, or resources sectors being highly desirable. Fluency in English is required, and Arabic language skills are a plus. The role demands a detail-oriented, collaborative team leader with a hands-on approach, who is calm and credible in high-pressure media situations, and has a strong executive presence with the ability to influence at the most senior levels.
