Head of Engineering

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the technical execution of its AI-native platform, which is designed to modernize the permitting process for local governments. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end engineering execution, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of products. This role involves close partnership with leadership to align technical and business priorities, driving engineering velocity through the establishment of effective processes, and leading a distributed team of senior engineers. The Head of Engineering will also be a champion for the use of AI development tools, mentor the team, and play a key role in the growth of the engineering function. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on recent leadership in an early-stage B2B startup environment. Experience in regulated industries such as GovTech, fintech, or healthtech is highly valued, as is a background in building user-facing applications and expertise in data modeling and production data systems. The role requires strong technical fundamentals, recent hands-on coding experience, and proficiency in technologies such as React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse audience, and a genuine interest in solving real-world government and housing challenges.
