Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead the development of its platform, which is at the forefront of Europe's car and property deals. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and owning the technology strategy, leading the engineering organization, and driving the AI transformation within the company. This role is pivotal in the company's ambitious plan to strengthen its core marketplace platform, make AI the default in product and engineering, and build the technical foundation for direct-to-dealer expansion. The CTO will join the management team, report to the CEO, and have end-to-end ownership of technology, including strategy, architecture, engineering, and technical operations. Applicants for the CTO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in software, with a focus on senior engineering leadership in B2B SaaS. The role requires a leader with a proven track record of creating trust and stability, hands-on architectural depth, and a strong conviction in AI. The ideal candidate will be a mentor who can shape and build a team, and who is capable of making AI-assisted development the default way of working. A background in engineering, either through a degree or equivalent experience, is essential, as is fluency in English and experience of Nordic working culture. The CTO will be expected to be present at the Uppsala office 2-3 days per week and should be prepared to lead a senior, capable engineering organization through a period of significant growth and transformation.
