Interim Head of Economy

The Company is seeking an Interim Head of Economy to spearhead its economic growth, employment, and skills initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the council's economy service, driving economic growth, and fostering business engagement. This role involves overseeing employment, skills, and adult learning programs, as well as building and maintaining partnerships across the public and private sectors. The Head of Economy will also be tasked with securing external funding and managing budgets to ensure the successful delivery of key economic initiatives. Applicants for the Interim Head of Economy position should have a background in economic development, regeneration, or employment and skills, with a proven track record in delivering growth and partnership working. Senior leadership experience within a Local Authority is essential, as is experience in managing large budgets and complex programs. The role requires excellent stakeholder management and political awareness to effectively lead service improvement and support the council's agenda of attracting investment and enhancing opportunities for residents.
