Executive Vice President, Evidence
Hiring Company
About the Role
Greater Nairobi, Kenya Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking an Executive Vice President for Evidence, a pivotal role that will lead the strategic growth and transformation of the organization's monitoring, learning, and evaluation teams, cost-effectiveness arm, and epidemiology capability. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the company's data-driven approach, ensuring that evidence and cost-effectiveness remain central to its operations. This leadership position demands a professional with a PhD or equivalent quantitative expertise, a strong background in cost-effectiveness or health economics, and a proven track record of technical leadership and management in low- and middle-income country contexts. The EVP will be responsible for overseeing the generation and use of evidence throughout the program lifecycle, setting a cross-program evidence strategy, and championing a culture of evidence-based decision-making. They must have the courage to act on evidence, the ability to lead and manage change, and a commitment to institutionalizing monitoring and learning practices. The ideal candidate for this role at the company will have a background that combines technical credibility with a strong program-implementation grounding. They should be adept at leading multi-disciplinary teams, building internal technical management capacity, and identifying opportunities to leverage AI and modern data tools to enhance evidence generation. The EVP will also be the senior organizational voice on evidence, engaging with external stakeholders, and must be prepared to be a champion of a transparent culture that shares learning, including from failures. This is not a remote or distant role; the EVP will be expected to have a field presence and be closely connected to the implementation of programs. The role is not about audit or compliance, nor is it focused on external research publication. It is about building the systems and structures that reinforce the appropriate generation and application of evidence to drive real impact and measurable change in the lives of millions.
