Vice President, Head of Claims

The Company is seeking a VP, Head of Claims for Belgium and Netherlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of the claims department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and efficient claims handling processes. This role involves working closely with senior management, negotiating claims settlements, and establishing adequate claims reserves. The VP, Head of Claims will also be expected to provide insight and analysis on complex losses, manage reporting requirements, and deliver agreed-upon claim services in a professional and timely manner. Applicants for the VP, Head of Claims position should have a proficient knowledge of the BeNe insurance market, be educated to degree level (with a legal qualification being desirable), and possess a high degree of technical claims expertise across multiple lines of business. The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and a spirit of entrepreneurship to build an efficient organization. The candidate should be fluent in Dutch and English, with proficiency in French, and have a proven track record of managing teams and claims handlers. Responsibilities also include mentoring and training junior team members, fostering relationships with key clients and brokers, and ensuring adherence to corporate governance and risk management standards.
