Head of Pre-Construction

The Company is seeking an experienced Head of Pre-Construction to lead its pre-construction function for the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for all pre-construction activities, ensuring the delivery of commercially competitive, technically robust, and strategically aligned tender submissions. This pivotal role involves developing client relationships, managing estimating and bid teams, and driving work-winning strategies across multiple construction sectors. The Head of Pre-Construction will also be tasked with overseeing the successful delivery of complex tenders, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and providing strategic input into project selection and work-winning decisions. To succeed in this role, candidates must be degree qualified in a relevant discipline and have a proven track record in estimating, bid management, or pre-construction leadership within a major contracting environment. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills are essential, as is a strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement routes, and commercial principles. The role requires the ability to lead, influence, and motivate multidisciplinary teams, as well as a demonstrable track record of securing major project awards. The Head of Pre-Construction will also be expected to report on pre-construction performance and market opportunities to senior leadership and support business development initiatives.
