General Counsel

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join its team. This pivotal role demands a highly motivated and dedicated attorney with a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, a minimum of 10 years of legal experience, and a strong background in labor and employment law, particularly within a unionized environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level legal guidance to the organization, including but not limited to, labor and employment law advice, grievance handling, collective bargaining, risk management, and representing the organization in legal matters. The General Counsel will also be involved in supervising the compliance department, developing office policies, and ensuring the organization's adherence to legal and regulatory standards. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should possess excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to balance legal risks with business demands. The role requires a candidate with substantial supervisory and managerial experience, particularly in a nonprofit unionized setting, and a demonstrated commitment to public interest work and social change.
