Head of Engineering, Platform

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering for its Platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the architecture and modernization strategy of business-critical licensing and accounts platforms. This role involves leading the transformation of complex backend systems, designing scalable and reusable licensing frameworks, and simplifying integrations to enhance system maintainability. The Head of Engineering will also define and execute the long-term technical roadmap, provide deep technical leadership, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of strategy and execution. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years at a Director level or above, and a proven track record in leading large-scale system transformations. Deep expertise in Java-based architectures, strong experience in system design, and a background in high-scale consumer or enterprise platforms are essential. The role requires the ability to manage and influence teams of 20 or more engineers, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to act as a change agent, driving modernization initiatives and challenging legacy systems. Preferred experience includes a background in licensing, entitlement, or accounts platforms, as well as exposure to regulated or legally constrained systems and cloud modernization initiatives.
