Vice President of Finance

The Company is seeking a VP of Finance to take on a pivotal role in owning the end-to-end finance and accounting functions. This includes FP&A, cash management, budgeting, month-end close, all financial analysis, and finance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outsourced accounting and tax firms, ensuring financial accuracy, and making critical decisions that impact the company's financial health and planning. The role is highly hands-on, with a focus on being the subject matter expert in financial matters and directly partnering with the CEO on strategic questions related to growth, investment, and operational safety. Key responsibilities for the VP of Finance at the company include developing a deep understanding of the business to inform financial decisions, building and maintaining financial models, leading the financial planning process, and closely partnering with various departments to provide a financial perspective. The role also involves owning cash management and forecasting, leading the financial planning process with a focus on aggressive cash flow, and being a key representative for investor relations and capital projects. The ideal candidate is a senior finance leader with a background in consumer subscription and marketplace businesses, experience in early-stage, fast-growing companies, and a preference for operating hands-on without a significant team. They should be a missionary, not mercenary, with exceptional financial forecasting and planning abilities, and a proven track record in debt and equity financing, vendor negotiations, and M&A.
