About the Role

The CFO shall have the primary responsibility of supervising the financial, accounting, risk management, treasury, audit, IT/Systems and fiscal aspects of the operations of the Corporation. In addition, will be responsible for the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. The specific CFO role requires experience with operating in a small company environment, including knowledge of the financial and operational impacts of business activities. Further, this role requires experience managing debt and cash flow to achieve lender compliance. Current direct reports include VP, International & Operational Finance (aden + anais), Controller (HALO), VP of IT, HR Generalist. Core Responsibilities: - Assist and support the CEO in developing company strategy and monitor the financial and operational execution of that strategy - Together with the executive team, develop and recommend to the Board of Directors an annual operating plan and financial budget that support the Corporation’s long-term strategy - Develop financial and tax strategies - Manage the capital request and budgeting process - Develop performance measures that support the company’s financial and operational direction. - Keep the Board of Directors aware of financial position and financial developments of the corporation - Oversee and monitor the Corporation’s financial position, banking and financial activities including capital structure and monitor the banking and financial covenants as applicable - Oversee and monitor information technology, leaseholds and procurement - Coordinate the timely preparation of the Corporation’s financial statements and management discussions and analysis (annual and interim) - Oversee the Corporation’s process for identifying, assessing, and managing the principal risks of the Corporation’s business - Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees and present the financial information necessary or relevant to the Board of Directors for discharging its duties - Perform other functions related to the office of the CFO or as may be reasonably requested by the Corporation’s CEO or Board of Directors - Maintain lines of communication with investors and coordinate the dissemination of Financial and Performance information - Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations - Oversee the financial impact of employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing cost effective benefit solutions Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have a master’s degree in accounting or business administration or the equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively increasing responsibilities in small to middle market companies. Must have experience partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
