The Sales and Marketing Consultant leads cross-functional teams to derive insights from the analyses, create associated sales and marketing playbooks, develop pilots to bring the playbooks to the market, and work side-by-side with the client through rollout. We work collaboratively within our team and with our client teams Mission for the Sales and Marketing Strategy Consultant To deliver outstanding sales growth for our clients, so that they become repeat clients and provide positive word of mouth to others. Secondarily, to support our internal knowledge development initiatives based on live client work. Outcomes that must be accomplished Be deployed 80% of the time or more on client engagements. Work with data scientists to apply advanced analytics and drive near-term sales growth for clients Receive 95% or higher client satisfaction, defined as the client provides a testimonial or referral Add case studies; process documentation; and sample analyses, frameworks, and deliverables to our knowledge base Competencies for the role Problem solving excellence - identify alternative solutions to a problem and select the best option; identify the system component that is causing the error, as well as the options available for resolving it Conceptual thinking - synthesize disparate pieces of information into “so-what's” that clients can take action on Fast learner - pick up new concepts quickly; get up to speed on new client’s business in short order Persistence - stay the course in times of difficulty; remain motivated to accomplish goals in the face of adversity Customer orientation - maintain a positive and constructive view of working with others; listen to, understand, and successfully work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds to achieve “win-win” outcomes Executive-level communication skills - confidently and credibly persuade senior executives through written and oral communications Sense of Urgency - espouse decisiveness and responsiveness; take fast action; make on-the-spot decisions with good judgment; meet important deadlines 100% of the time Efficiency - apply the “80/20 rule”; be effective at organization, planning, and attention to detail; maintain an outcome orientation Follow through on commitments and personal accountability - be responsible for the consequences of one’s own actions and decisions; take responsibility for these decisions and do not shift focus on blame or poor performance somewhere else or on others Likely prior experience 10+ years total work experience Mix of consulting and operating roles Recent expertise in sales and marketing strategy development, e.g., value proposition refinement, segmentation, media mix, pricing optimization, product lineup, business models, funnel optimization, content / authority marketing strategy, sales force optimization, online lead generation, e-commerce Experience working with data scientists/statisticians to derive business insights from advanced analyses, e.g., cluster analysis, regression, decision trees, etc.
