Associate General Counsel Greater Austin, TX Area

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their North America Legal Team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the legal department, providing essential support for the company's utility-scale solar energy and energy storage projects in the U.S. and Canada. This role is pivotal in the areas of real estate, land acquisition, environmental and permitting, and development activities. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing all strategic real estate legal support, interacting with various external parties, and managing real estate provisions in a range of legal agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in law, be a pragmatic businessperson, and have a proven track record of working on real estate agreements within a top-tier law firm or corporate legal department. Applicants must have a U.S.-credentialed law degree from a top-tier ABA accredited law school, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in real estate law. While experience in utility-scale solar energy and battery storage projects is preferred, it is not required. The role demands a professional with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage a heavy workload, and a talent for maintaining relationships across the organization. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in developing legal strategies for new transactions, coordinating with outside legal counsel, and assisting with corporate and governance matters. The position requires a clear communicator, a team player, and an individual who can uphold standards of discretion and confidentiality while being entrepreneurial, creative, and strategic in their approach.
