Vice President, Legal & Compliance Greater Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Legal and Compliance to lead its legal, regulatory compliance, company secretarial, and corporate governance functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates within all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments. This role involves serving as the principal advisor on legal, regulatory compliance, contractual, and governance matters, and supporting sound decision-making to protect the company's interests. Key responsibilities include providing authoritative legal advice, acting as the company secretary, leading regulatory compliance and engagement, and owning legal-risk and compliance-policy governance for the enterprise. Applicants must have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in law, business, governance, compliance, or a related field, with a minimum of 9 years' work experience for degree holders and 11 years for non-degree holders. A Master's degree or relevant professional legal qualification is an added advantage, along with at least 4 years in a managerial role. Experience in a regulated industry, particularly telecommunications, is also advantageous. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in legal, regulatory, compliance, company secretarial, or corporate governance, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team in these areas. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing legal and regulatory support for strategic initiatives and be adept at handling material contracts, disputes, and investigations.
