Deputy General Counsel, Labor & Employment Greater Chicago, IL Area

The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel for Labor and Employment to provide timely legal advice on employment, labor relations, and personnel matters. Responsibilities include advising management, supporting human resources and labor relations functions, supervising staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of related policies and procedures. The role also involves assisting with the overall operation of the legal office and advising on matters such as accommodations, leave, employee discipline, hiring, and immigration. Candidates must hold a law degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in Illinois, and have at least four years of progressively responsible legal administrative experience. Preferred qualifications include experience litigating employment matters and advising management on labor, employment, benefits, immigration, accommodations, leave, and employee discipline. Experience with merit-system personnel regulations and drafting employee handbooks or workplace policies is also valued. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel and work overtime.
